What is CRV?
CRV stands for California Redemption Value. Consumers pay CRV when purchasing eligible beverages in California and can receive the redemption value back when the eligible empty containers are recycled.
What CRV containers do you accept?
We accept eligible aluminum cans, plastic beverage bottles, glass beverage bottles, and eligible wine and distilled spirits containers.
Do you accept wine and liquor bottles for CRV?
Yes. Eligible wine and distilled spirits containers have been included in California’s CRV program since January 1, 2024.
How do I know if my container qualifies?
Check the container for a California CRV/redemption label.
Do you accept crushed cans or plastic bottles?
Yes, as long as the material can still be properly identified and is eligible CRV material.
Do containers need to be empty?
Yes. Containers should be empty before being brought in for recycling.
Do you accept scrap metal too?
Yes. Scrap metal recycling is available, but it should have its own separate Metal Recycling page with information about the metals we accept.
Do you accept refrigerators, AC units or appliances?
No. Please see our Items We Do Not Accept page for a complete list.
How are CRV payments calculated?
Depending on the quantity and material, eligible CRV containers may be redeemed by count or by weight in accordance with California CRV requirements.
